Jul 07, Greg rated it did not like it. This book is garbage. It beats the dead horse of "sales dogs" from the title into the ground by attributing individual sales styles to breeds of dogs. The analogy seems like it's going to be appropriate at first, but as the book continues, it just gets confusing as all get out as you quickly forget what defines a poodle or a bulldog.
Not that it would help much, since instead of giving advice and concrete examples, he pushes the same old types of generalized motivational advice that you hear eve This book is garbage.

Get back up! Pick up the phone and sell! Aug 26, Ardee rated it it was amazing. A very easy but insightful read to those interested in jumping into the world of sales, or already in sales but not aware of it. Most memorable take away for me is to embrace your own self and "breed".
One does not need to change himself to be a sales superstar a "BigDog" - one just needs to know himself well and work on those strengths and weaknesses. Certainly one of the books that left an impression with me. Aug 26, Vladimir Trandafir rated it liked it.
Jun 19, Vale Tek rated it it was amazing. To become a Billion Dollar downloader you need to sell something: You must first change your mind about selling. John F. Kennedy was selling, Martin Luther King was selling, Gandhi was selling, your children are constantly selling. Great wor Great work!
An interesting take on sales. I think this a great book for managers, more so than individual contributors. I couldn't agree more with the chapter on overcoming objections. Worth the read, but not the best book on sales. Mar 12, Franklyn Roth rated it it was amazing. Good book and high level overview. I liked how he broke down into 5 categories.
Lots of stuff for managers too. Some superfluous language, but not too bad. I would recommend. Read my book review notes here http: I do love dogs and the analogies using dogs in relation to sales was fun.
Muy malo Did not get far in this book. Couldn't get past the excessive seriously excessive comparison to dogs.
Dare I say more talk of dogs than sales. Plenty of better books out there. Jul 02, Svetlana rated it liked it.
